Grew up in Seattle, Dr. Van Vu received his bachelor and medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He went on to USC to complete his anesthesiology training. After finishing his specialty pain management fellowship, he was recruited by Huntington Beach Hospital to open its first pain management center in 1995. He is a board certified pain specialist, founder and owner of California Pain Center in Fountain Valley. Utilizing his medical expertise, he is also a co-owner of TS Cosmetic Labs, inc., a manufacturer of nail, beauty, health, and cleaning solutions supply company in Stanton CA.

He is constantly trying to better his community via participation. Dr. Vu served as VP for OC Lions Club and Vietnamese Physicians Association of CA, Board of Directors for HB Community Clinic and American Cancer Society. In April 2022 he took over as current President (2021-22) as well as (2022-2023) for HB Kiwanis club. He also has been voted in as the Lieutenant Governor for Division 4 (2023-2024) for Cal-Nev-Ha District Kiwanis. Dr. Vu also serves as a Commissioner for the City of Huntington Beach Harbour Commission. His other civic activities includes serving as a board member for the City of HB Fire Outreach Foundation and Miss Fountain Valley Competition.



Since 1995, Dr. Vu has lived in Huntington Beach with his wife and four children. Dr. Vu is committed to the well being of his children and spends most of his free time participating in their education and extra-curricular activities. He has been an AYSO volunteer coach, a financial supporter and league leader for all of his children’s sports teams and artistic endeavors. In his spare time he enjoys cycling and working on his wine collection.
