1. Contact us for an invitation. Join us for lunch, fun and fellowship!

2. Find a sponsor. You have to be invited to join the organization by a Kiwanian. There are plenty of sponsors who are willing to help you.

3. Attend lunch with your sponsor. This is a great way to meet other Kiwanians and find out more about membership in the club.

4. Attend Kiwanis 101. Learn more about the club and organization to see if it works for you.

5. Apply for membership and wait for your membership application to be reviewed by the club's board of directors. CLICK HERE FOR OUR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION.

6. Give all the time you can once you have been accepted. Volunteer for different types of programs. The more time you spend with Kiwanis, the more knowledge you will gain and your membership will become more valuable to the club.

7. Run for election as a board member. Club officers are discouraged from serving for more than a couple of years, and elections are held on a yearly basis. Being in a supervisory role is a good start to becoming active in Kiwanis.

8. Get appointed to committees. This will help you gain expertise in particular functions of Kiwanis and will require greater participation than the average member.

Q: What does the name Kiwanis mean?
A: The name "Kiwanis" was coined from an expression in an American Indian language of the Detroit area, "Nunc Kee-wanis," which means, "we trade" or "we share our talents."

Q: What is a Kiwanian?
A: An active or retired business and professional man or woman who is a member of a Kiwanis club.

Q: Is Kiwanis a political or religious organization?
A: Kiwanis is not a political organization - our members have different beliefs but we do not endorse any candidate or political issue. Kiwanis is not a religious organization - our members come from all faiths, yet we come together united in a desire to serve children. While "spirituality" is a component of Kiwanis, there is no one official religion of Kiwanis.

Q: Is there a dress code for your meetings?
A: No, we have all kinds of people from bankers and attorneys, to designers and musicians.

Q: When and where are your meetings?
A: Every Tuesday at noon at the Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach, on the second floor. Meetings start at 11:45AM and end by 1:15PM.

Q: What kind of speakers do you get?
